The experience

Styled steps from Piazza di Spagna, photographed in golden light

Your session begins at Bartorelli, the Roman maison styling the city since 1962, where the team prepares your hair and makeup in a room built for the ritual.

When you're ready, I meet you right outside on Piazza di Spagna. From there we walk into a two-hour session through the most beautiful streets of central Rome, timed to finish as the sun goes down.

Other times of day

Prefer a morning or midday session? It's possible by arrangement with the salon. Tell me your plans and I'll check availability with the Bartorelli team.

Sunrise sessions

The salon isn't open before sunrise, so for early sessions a Bartorelli stylist comes to your hotel for hair and makeup, for an additional fee. Sunrise in Rome ranges from about 5:35 am in June to 7:40 am in winter.

Please note the salon is closed on Sundays. Your salon appointment follows Bartorelli's own booking policy.
Kind words

Questions, answered

What if it rains?

I keep an eye on the forecast with you. If rain is coming, we can move your session to another day of your stay at no cost, and I'll coordinate the new salon appointment with the Bartorelli team. Some couples choose to stay out for moody, rain-washed streets, which photograph beautifully.

Can my partner come?

Of course. Partners, family and friends are welcome to join, and couples sessions are some of my favorites to photograph. Tell me who's coming when you plan your session, and if anyone else would like hair and makeup, I'll ask the salon about a second appointment.

What should I wear?

Something you feel completely like yourself in, plus comfortable shoes for the cobblestones. Once you book, I'll send outfit ideas and help you choose colors that work with your styling and Rome's warm light.

How much walking is there?

Most sessions stay within about 15 minutes on foot from the salon, at an easy pace with plenty of stops. Depending on the light and your plans, the route can include the Spanish Steps, Via Margutta, Piazza del Popolo and the Pincio terrace.

Who do I pay for what?

Your photography is booked with me: a deposit secures your date, and the balance is charged automatically on the day of your shoot. Hair and makeup are booked with Bartorelli and paid directly at the salon.
